Eagles Summer Event

On Sunday 7th August the Eagles Ranch organizes the Eagles Summer Event for the last time. There will be more demonstrations to watch than ever before!

The Ranch is only open to the public on Sunday 7 August from 10am to 4pm.

Entrance fee

€ 5,00 for kids under 12, for the semi-invalid and senior citizens
€ 7,50 for visitors over 12 years old
Kids under 1 year old are free

Every year The Eagles Ranch organises a great Western Show: The Eagles Summer Event. It is held on:

Traditional market

Visitors are warmly welcomed to the traditional market with stalls scattered all over the ranch's grounds.

There are various stalls with Real Texel Produce, Country Life products and Western Tack and other bric-à-brac.

Demonstrations and clinics for all ages

There are various demonstrations to be watched at the stalls. Children as well as their parents can participate in short workshops such as:

making your own candles;
making your own Indian bracelet or chain,
painting a plate and lots of other stuff!

Children have a field day!

Children have a good time on the huge yellow castle trampoline or they can have their faces made-up like a lion or tiger!

Speciaal voor de kinderen is er jaarlijks een kids corner met o.a.

a bouncy castle
sandboxes
all kinds of playthings
and the large playground open to children of all ages

Clowns

Bimo the clown visits the Summer Event to entertain young and old.

Mechanical Bull

For real daredevils there is the Mechanical Bull! Feel like a real cowboy in a rodeo! How long can you stay on this wild mechanical animal?

Terrace with live music

On the terrace there's coffee, BBQ and lovely rolls with ham of the bone and hamburger available all day. A Country & Western band plays live music and of course you're very welcome to join in and dance along

Line dancing

In the afternoon the Texel Line Dancers will give a show in style! And you are welcome to join in!

Blacksmith

The blacksmith, Jan-Wietse de Boer from Friesland, shows us how a horse's hoofs are being shoed. He forges a piece of iron to a horse-shoe and shoes a horse with it on the spot.

Horses demonstrations

In the outer rings demonstrations are held in various diciplines of western riding, such as Trail, Barrelracing and the Western Pleasure.

These often spectacular demonstrations are held at different times through the day so as to give the horses enough time to recover and to enable you to prepare for the next demonstration.

There is:

Doma Vaquero with a Spanish stallion
Western riding with Paint en Quarter horses
Barrelracing - the audience may cheer and yell and clap!
Freestyle with horses
Trail in the Trail garden
And finally there is a game of horse football !

Dog demonstrations

At the Summer Event there is a mixture of horse and dog demonstrations which are being held by D.O.S. a well-known demonstation team on Texel.

There are dog demonstrations in dexterity, skill and surveillance.

At the Eagles Ranch there are various large and small animals such as chickens, turkeys, peacocks, canaries, quartels, a marten, dogs, mini-pigs, cows, goats and sheep.
