Camping with your horse at the Eagles Ranch

The ranch is in nature reserve Waal en Burg. The low lands of the island are characteristic for their scattered grass and reedlands, ponds and duck decoys. They are an important nesting ground for ducks, and birds of the Wadden. Rare plants such as harlekijnorchis and ophioglossum vulgatum grow in the brackish grasslands.

The characteristic mills in Waal en Burg still operate: in winter the polder is flooded in order to give ducks and geese sufficient bed ground.

There are several ways to enjoy the area on horseback. e.g. the beach can be reached in only half an hour. But you can also use our arena.

There are several kinds of animals at the ranch, like sheep, mini-pigs, dwarf goats, ducks, turkeys, chickens. Of course there are the horses too.
